Can A Mattress Be Stacked On Top Of Another Mattress In Place Of A Box Spring?

By Jeff Frank

If you stack two mattresses you would not be able to use a bed frame underneath. As a result your top mattress would be lower than what most people prefer.

Mattress tops are not perfectly flat and some mattress tickings (fabrics) are slippery. There is a pretty good chance the top mattress would slide off.

Other than that, there is no reason why you couldn’t stack two mattresses together.
