There are no cat-proof sofas.

Tightly woven materials (such as microfibers) are more cat-resistant than loosely woven fabrics, but will not deter a determined feline.

Over the years I have spoken with dozens of customers about best methods for cat-proofing sofas.

The most successful method that I have heard for cat-proofing a sofa is:

• On the parts of the sofa that are your cat’s favorite places to scratch, cover the fabric with double sided tape (sticky on both sides.)
• Cats do not like the sticky feel. After a few weeks (or months) most cats learn to avoid the sofa.
• At that point you can remove the tape.
