Do You Recommend Palliser Recliners?

By Jeff Frank

Question:

I have seen a few Palliser pieces. Is this a line you would recommend?

I especially like the ZG6 model in this line which is a zero gravity that I have fallen in love with – mostly because it relieves a little of the pain in my lower back.

 Answer:

Palliser is a Canadian company, but much of their furniture, sold in the U.S., comes from their Mexican factory.

I can’t give an opinion on medical benefits, such as reducing back pain, but I like the zero gravity mechanism. It is more expensive than many other reclining mechanisms, but it works very nicely and gives a greater range of motion.

  • Zero gravity mechanisms can be found in many different brands at a wide range of prices (but not at the lower price levels.)
  • Leather recliners with zero gravity mechanisms usually are priced above $2000.

Palliser offers many excellent leathers. With periodic cleaning and maintenance, the leather can last for 20+ years.

Palliser’s ZG6 seat cushion is made with pocketed coils. These should maintain their original comfort far longer than the industry standard 1.8 density foam.
