Branded mattresses come in all price ranges.
In the U.S. almost all mattresses are branded.
- Some brands are better known than others and can command higher licensing fees.
- Some mattress brands are made by multiple manufacturers. In those cases the manufacturers pay a licensing fee for the use of the brand’s name and specifications.
Mattresses manufacturers who sell their own brand online and ship direct to consumers do not pay licensing fees.
- This gives them a slight cost advantage, but the bigger cost advantage is that they can bypass the retailer markup.
