Question:
I read your review on Flexsteel and found it very accurate and seemingly unbiased. I was hoping that you could help me with a review/guidance on adjustable lumbar recliners or chairs. I have been suffering from bulging discs for a few years now and need a very supportive chair. Any recommendations? If I just Google, I seem to get reviews that are really selling one brand or another. Thanks,
Sue

Answer:
I do not want to make any recommendations regarding the best furniture for specific medical conditions. Also, I do not know what your budget is for this chair.
If your budget is over $2000 you might want to take a look at Cozzia. They are not in my blog article since they are an Italian company, but they are known for their heat and massage functions, as well as multiple adjustments to many different parts of the chair and zero-gravity mechanisms.
If you have problems getting up from sitting, they also make lift chairs that raise the seat to help you stand up after sitting.
Cozzia has also paired up with American manufacturer Southern Motion to create the SoCozi line of zero gravity recliners. I have not checked prices, but SoCozi may be less expensive than the original Cozzi line. (Southern Motion’s regular recliner lineup is similar to Flexsteel and LaZBoy in quality and price.)
The SoCozi website claims that their zero gravity chairs have medical benefits including:
- Relieves back pain and reduces spinal compression
- Reduces swelling in joints
- Improves lung capacity and function
- Eases the heart’s ability to send blood and oxygen through the body
