How do companies that make flatpack furniture get that nice, strong, pure color on the pieces of MDF?

The color and/or wood grain is a photograph that is printed onto a paper-like material.

This photograph is then glued onto the top of the MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) engineered wood product and covered with a clear coat sealant.
