What is your opinion of Lee furniture?
I am looking at a 92” sofa that has only 4 feet. Do you think that a middle leg is needed?
They use hardwood frames and 8 way tied foundations.
There are too many choices for cushions. I’m not a fan of down.
I have owned Rowe, Baker, Drexel Heritage, Calico and Ethan Allen.
How does Lee compare?
Answer:
Unless you are looking at a sofa with thin legs that are 5″ high or more, the middle leg should not be needed.
The hardwood frames and 8 way hand-tied indicate a high-quality construction.
Cushion options:
- Down/feather cushions are too expensive and require too much “fluffing” and maintenance for most people.
- Lee’s Spring Fiber and Cloud 9 cushion options will last far longer than the standard NaturalLee cushion. Go with one of those.
- The small amount of down/feathers in the Cloud 9 option will not cause any problems and will slightly improve the cushion’s comfort compared with the Spring Fiber option.
Among the companies you have listed, I would rank Lee behind Baker and Drexel Heritage and ahead of Ethan Allen.
Lee is far superior to Rowe. I am not familiar with Calico construction or quality.
