Answer:

In my personal opinion the Ekornes Stressless furniture is among the best in the world at any price. It is built to last 20 years and more.

The warranty is only as good as the retailer you buy the furniture from, but there is very little that should go wrong with this furniture.

Do not buy any extended warranties. They are worthless for almost any situation that is likely to occur.

I am not personally familiar with Fjords, but from looking at the website it also appears to be an outstanding product.
