Question:
I’m interested in the American Heritage brand sectionals advertised on Leathershoppes.com, but don’t see enough reviews to trust.
Do you know what manufacturer is making these sofas/sectionals as a private label for Leathershoppes, and are they quality?
They appear to have quality frames, 8 way suspension and an option for spring down cushions.
I am looking for evidence that these quality component descriptions have a history of quality and reputable production that would make the furniture last 15-20 years or longer.
Answer:
As you already know, American Heritage is a private label brand for Leathershoppes.
The American Heritage brand name is also used by several other furniture manufacturers and retailers selling very different products. So if you run into bad American Heritage reviews, it may not be the same company.
Leathershoppe’s use of the American Heritage brand as a private label gives them the freedom to change manufacturers if they ever run into problems. But from everything I know, American Heritage is a genuine high quality leather brand.
American Heritage apparently migrated from Canada more than 10 years ago, when it was known as Legacy, a high quality Canadian brand.
Other American Made brands with leather of similar (or slightly better) quality include:
Carolina Custom Leather, North Carolina
Century, North Carolina
Huntington House, North Carolina
Lancaster Custom Upholstery, North Carolina
Leathercraft, North Carolina
Lee Industries, North Carolina
The MT Company (Michael Thomas and Miles Talbot), North Carolina
Sherill, North Carolina
Taylor King, North Carolina
Temple Furniture, North Carolina
Vanguard, North Carolina
