Bonded leather is a defective product. Both manufacturers and retailers are well aware that bonded leather frequently peels or flakes within just a few years. The damage is not repairable and is not covered by warranty.
Puddling (wrinkling) is a common problem with leather furniture at all prices. It’s not considered a defect. One way to minimize this problem is to move around and not constantly sit in the same part of the sofa. “Fluff up” your cushions periodically.
Bassett and Flexsteel use similar quality leathers for their mass produced furniture. These are corrected top grain leathers. The imperfect natural grain has been sanded away and replaced with a better looking engraved grain pattern.

Most faux leather is highly durable. Bonded leather’s flaws did not become apparent until 2 – 3 years after its introduction in 2010.

My prediction is that bonded leather will completely disappear from residential furniture within 3 years.
